The letter "QI" are visible on the nosegear door, as an indication that this is the Fokker 100 prototype. It was used for continous testing of soft-& hardware. On this occasion, they were testing the capabilities of a new landing gear from a Canadian company. For this, the aircraft made several high weight/high speed landings/ Even though the manufacturer indicated maximum loads were never reached, the gear collapsed during one of the touch & go's. The aircraft veered off the runway and ended up in the grass. All occupants walked away unharmed. Photo by Aerophoto Eelde.
