This Dakota belonged to the 355/1 STM based at Thessaloniki-Sédes. At that time, the base was equipped with metal plates taxi and runway. The once USAAF Dakotoa, (43-49479) was delivered to the RAF as KK156 in September 1949 and later on transferred to Greece. It was eventually withdrawn from service early 2005.
