Operated by BAE Trials Flight based at Warton and on loan from the Royal Saudi Air Force. It took up its original UK serial for the duration of the Tornado Sustainment Programme (TSP) trials. The TSP was broadly speaking a mid life update that brought the RSAF Tornado to the standard of the UK Tornado GR4. The most notable exception to this being the Thales DAMOCLES targetting pod which was used in preference to the Litening pod. ZH917 returned home in April 2013.
