The maiden flight of the German Hansa Brandenburg W.33 float monoplane was in October 1918. Only seven aircraft were delivered before end of the WWI. The Finnish Air Force bought the licence to build W.33s in May 1921. The State Aircraft Factory built 120 I.V.L. A 22 Hansas. Two of them were sold to Latvia. The Finnish Air Force used aircraft as a reconnaissance aircraft, a bomber and a trainer until 1935. The aircraft is only one of the type remaining in the world.
