Viima II was derived from Viima I. The prototype of the Viima II took air first time October 12th, 1937. The Viima II was proven successful and the State Aircraft Factory delivered 22 Viima IIs in 1939. The Finnish Air Force used aircraft as a trainer. VI-21 made the last flight of the type in the Finnish Air Force August 17th, 1962. Eight Viima IIs were sold to civilian use. VI-21 became OH-VII and flied until 1985.
