The sailplane PIK-20 of the Polyteknikkojen Ilmailukerho was success. By using PIK-20B as a basis Jukka Tervamäki and Eiriavion Oy built a motor glider equipped with retractable Rotax 503 engine. The maiden flight was in October 1976. Prototype JT-6 lead to PIK-20E motor glider production. In all, 103 PIK-20Es were built in Finland and 17 in France.
