This plane was built in 1922 and was the 44th example built of the Š-1/Š-2 series but was the 16th Š-2 produced, hence the reason that this plane is sometimes quoted as having different construction numbers. In 1926, Š.2.16 crashed at Nitra and underwent a difficult repair when it should have been decommissioned. Luckily for us, otherwise this rare example would not be on display today at the Letecké Muzeum Kbely. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
