Fitted with a new, high technology wing (TNT = Tragflügel Neuer Technologie or New Technology Wing) and powered by two Garrett TPE331-5-252D engines mounted on the wing. The wing later used in the Dornier 228. This prototype was the only one built, it first flown on 14 June 1979.
