Crashed on descent to Port Hedland on December 31, 1968 after the starboard wing failed. It led to the grounding all Australian Viscounts. Viscount 810s were cleared to fly again but the remaining Viscount 700s were grounded permanently. RMQ had been the second Australian Viscount, delivered in October 1954 as VH-TVB for TAA. VH-TVA and VH-TVC were also lost in fatal accidents, TVA in a training accident before entering service and TVC broke up in a storm in November 1961 while departing Sydney for Canberra when on lease to Ansett-ANA.
