This airfield closed in 1975 and is now the Prince William of Gloucester Barracks. The first Tiger Moths were delivered to the RAF here in 1931 and a fly in was organised by the de Havilland Moth Club to commemorate the event with two runways specially cut and rolled onto the grass.
