This aircraft is widely quoted as c/n 5344, but that is its fuselage number. It is in fact Dornier Werknummer 3385 which was delivered to Spain in 1944, last serving with them in 1966 as HD.5-3. Bought in August 1976 by Dolph Overton and registered to him as N99222 in Feb 1977. The aircraft was never delivered, but remained stored in Spain. Donated to Dornier in 1982, who then displayed it in their museum at Oberpfaffenhofen as of 1983, fitted with wings and engines from HD.5-4 c/n 3404.
