A94-946 was operated by RAAFs' Aircraft Research and Development Unit (ARDU). This aircraft was used for the Sidewinder trials. The moving flight control surfaces and the nose back from the intake to the windscreen were finished in a dark red colour. On some sites that have photos of A94-946, the captions may read that the surfaces are finished in Day-Glo finish. Realistically it can't be called Day-Glo. The patch that shows a Mirage is a bit of a mystery to me and others. This photo is copyright © Kurt Finger, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
