This Beagle was delivered in 1953 to the 35th Bomber Regiment in Modlin. It was one of 10 Ił-28s modified in Poland to the 'E' version, enabling special reconnaissance and radio-electronic countermeasures It went on to serve with the 33rd Regiment of Operational Reconnaissance Aviation and then in the 7th Reconnaissance and Bombing Brigade. Ił-28E operations in Poland ended in 1979 and '47' is now on display at the Polish AF museum. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
