These monsters were frequently seen in the 1960s overflying westbound from Mildenhall (EGUN). The deep never-to-be-forgotten sound they made could rattle the windows from 25,000 feet up. This one caught fire while being refueled on 13 July 1963 at Dover AFB (KDOV) and was subsequently scrapped. This photo was added on 24 March 2021, and has since been viewed 552 times. |
