For the 75th anniversary of D-Day, a massive paradrop was organized in Normandy above one of the original wartime dropzones. Several Air Forces participated, as well as many Dakotas (even from overseas). We chose to position ourselves opposite of the main spectator areas due to the 'sun'. I say 'sun', because clearly the weather was lousy. At some point the aircraft drifted a bit towards us and soon we were surrounded by parachutes. Definitely an experience!
