The Refuge des Grand Mulets sits at 3051 m (10,010 ft) on the Mont Blanc. The mountain hut was rebuilt in 1960. Here the famous French mountaineer and High Commissioner for Youth and Sport Maurice Herzog arrives for the inauguration. F-BIFL crashed three days later. The pilot and a mechanic were killed.
