Entered service with the US Army Air Force in January1945 as 44-72770. To The Swedish Air Force in January 1948 as 26116. to the Israeli Defense Force in March 1953 as 2343. Recovered to the UK in 1976 to become G-BIXL. By 1987 the aircraft was restored. Featured in the movie Memphis Belle as 'Miss L.' Damaged in an off-airport landing in 2004, repaired and flying again in 2007. Damaged in a hard landing at Duxford airshow in 2008, but again repaired.
