This helicopter is something of a survivor having been involved in two crashes in its life. On 27th Feb 1964 it crashed during a low pass at Chatsworth California and was extensively damaged. Having been repaired it was again badly damaged on 16th Dec 1970 when control was lost while hovering at low level on a training flight at Fresno resulting in the helicopter rolling over.
