These days it's rare to see a Qantas widebody in Adelaide but here flight QF6043 from Fua'amotu International, Tonga is on final for Rw 23 about 1.4 km from the threshold. The importance and reason for this flight was to bring in the first 200 Pacific islanders to work in fruit growing areas as fruit pickers due to the lack of local workers. As at the time of writing a further 5 flights were expected at fortnightly intervals, the separation of flights to allow for the workers to complete 14 days in a quarantine facility before going to work due to Covid-19 restrictions.
