This 1983 F/A-18A started its career with Marine Strike Fighter Squadron (VMFA) 323 Death Rattlers and was marked WS-15 and later WS-00 (as pictured) until April 1992. The airframe was then moved to the US Navy and served Strike Fighter squadron (VFA) 97 (NL-312), Fighter Squadron Composite (VFC) 13 (ND-06 and (AF-06) and then returned to the US Marine Corps with VMFA-314 (MF-14 and MF-01). Then its career ended for the time being at 309th AMARG on 28 April 2004 with inventory code 1A0073.
