This ECR was built in the seventh Tornado batch for the Luftwaffe and delivered in the early ninetees. The aircraft served JBG38 and JBG32. With JBG32 to Tornado received these (terrible...? one loves it, one hates it... it's me with the latter group) so-called "Flying Monster" colours. The monster flew like this from mid-June 2002 up to early 2003, after which it went into an overhaul at Erding. The next year, on 9 December 2004, the Tornado crashed near Kaufering and the ruine of Haltenberg, shortly after take off from its homebase Lechfeld, killing both pilots.
