Built as a KC-135A, this aircraft was modified to EC-135H and served through the years the 7120th, 10th (as pictured) and the 4th Airborne Command and Control Squadron. The aircraft was rebuilt to GEC-135H in mid-1992 and served since as an instructional airframe at Sheppard AFB (TX). The 10th ACCS crews flew the Airborne Command Post to support the US Commander-in-Chief, Europe. The aircraft also served as aerial tankers from 1972. The ECs provided communications support during the exercises and the cold war in support of NATO, and other agencies following overwater routes near Europe.
