Painted with markings of Spitfire MK1A delivered to 603 Squadron, 30th August 1940 and shot down in flames off the North Foreland and crashed in to the sea 3rd September, 1940. The famous pilot Richard Hillary was at controls when shot down and managed to bailed out safely although he was badly wounded. Originally TB382 delivered to the RAF on 17th January 1945 and which later appeared in the film "The Battle of Britain". Exhibited at Cosford by the RAF Exhibition Flight in false markings MK673 as an aircraft of 165 Sqn, and latterly with the BBMF at Coningsby (for spares).
