Ex Gulf Air and Air Ceylon lease. This VC-10 was flown to Filton for tanker conversion in April 1978, still marked A4O-VL. At Filton the registration was removed and the new serial ZA140 applied over the front door. in June 1983 ZA140 made its first post conversion flight. Considering the stat of the aircraft this picture was probably taken just prior commencement of the conversion.
