Built as an F-105D, redesignated GF-105D. Used as a ground instructional training a/c at Lackland AFB. Moved from there to the current location in 2012. The 184th Tactical Fighter Training Group of the Kansas ANG was responsible for the training of all ANG F-105 pilots. The unit operated F-105Ds from 1971 - 1979.
