The N24 Nomad suffered problems with its tailplane which may be the reason the aircraft was stored without one. It had been withdrawn from use in 1984 after six years' service. In 1987 it was restored to the register briefly ahead of its sale to New Zealand as ZK-NMD. In New Zealand it put in over 30 years' service. Mike Madden photo.
