On 28th December 1968 in retaliation for a terrorist attack on an Israeli aircraft in Athens, 8 Israeli Air Force Aérospatiale Super Frelon helicopters landed at Beirut International Airport at night. Commandos set fire to, and destroyed fourteen aircraft including this which was damaged beyond repair.
