EDAD was used by Soviet forces immediately after WWII but handed over to the NVA in 1952. Thereafter it was primarily as a transport aircraft training school. In November 1963, the Il-14s were transferred to Dresden-Klotzsche Airfield and EDAD was primarily used only by gliders of the East German pre-military organization 'GST - Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik' until the airfield was closed in 1979. So even though there is a small and nice collection of Cold War jets at this museum they have no real connection with Junkers or EDAD. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
