Preserved outside this museum that aims to inform people about the life of Otto Liliienthal, a pioneer of early flight and gliding, who is quoted by the wright Brothers as having been a major influence. In 1893, Lilienthal also started performing gliding attempts from the hills around Stölln and the Rhinow Hills. Unfortunately, in August 1896, during one of these flights Lilienthal's glider pitched forward and he sustained fatal injuries.
