The F-92 fighter was cancelled and the XF-92A was just a rudimentary smaller test aircraft built for delta wing research. Only this airframe, 46-682, was completed. It was re-engined and painted white in 1951. The photo was clearly taken at Convair in San Diego. The B-36 with 11th Bomb Group markings in the background, 44-92085, was accepted by the USAF in January 1950.
