The airline was founded in 1966 as Yung Shing Airlines, and renamed Formosa Airlines in 1987. This aircraft carries western Formosa Airlines titles, but the Chinese titles 永興航空公司 (right-to-left on this side) are still those of the old name Yung Shing Airlines.
