Blackhawks are famous among the turkish armed forces. Besides the Air Force, the Army and the Navy, the paramilitary security forces Police and Gendarmerie also operate this rugged helicopter. The "Jandarma" has been operating the Blackwhawk since 1988 and has so far taken charge of 37 units, among them nine S-70A-17, twenty-six S-70A-28 plus two S-70i.
