H5240 was supplied to New Zealand as part of the post World War I Imperial Gift to help set up an air arm. Instead, it passed to Walsh Bros, trading New Zealand Flying School. H5240 was registered G-NZAB in 1922 but never carried the civil registration. In 1924 the school and aircraft were taken over by the new New Zealand Permanent Air Force. H5240 crashed at Waihi on May 26 that year. Longlands was Hastings's first aerodrome on land leased by Walsh Bros. It was replaced by the current Bridge Pa aerodrome (NZHS) in 1934.
