Tel Nof AFB was the home for the Israeli Air Force flight academy until 1966 when it moved to the newly-opened Hatzerim AFB near Beer Sheva. This Stearman was part of the Tel Nof AFB base aircraft collection in May 1982. There have been very few recent reports regarding aircraft preserved at the Tel Nof AFB. I suspect that many of the aircraft I photographed 1982 were transferred to the IAF Museum at Hatzerim, other IAF bases or scrapped. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
