Delivered new to USN on 29 August 1952. Shipped to Japan and was assigned to FASRON 11 (Fleet Aircraft Service Squadron) at Atsugi, Japan. Assigned to VC-61 Detachment E aboard USS Oriskany from October 1953 - February 1954. Transferred to VMJ-1, where it operated out of Pohang, S. Korea and Atsugi, Japan until February 1956. Returned to the U.S., and after a lengthly overhaul ended up at the Naval Air Test Center at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Sent to NAS New Orleans, retired in 1959, and transferred to Baton Rouge.
