Danish geographer Sophie Petersen (1885-1965) was known as 'the most travelled woman in Denmark, if not the world.' For her 1935 trip she flew from Germany to Brazil on Graf Zeppelin and also passed through Santiago's Los Cerrillos airport. NC14272 crashed into Mount Mercedario in 1938 on a cargo flight.
