Acquired by Tippers Air Transport at Halfpenny Green from the RAF in October 1967 along with several others of the type. To the nascent British Historic Aircraft Museum at Southend in September 1968. The museum did not proceed and the aircraft languished at Southend, here seen without engines of outer wings. When the BHAM was resurrected as the Historic Aircraft Museum (Southend) G-AVVO was surplus to requirements and the fuselage was obtained by the Newark Air Museum as a replacement for that of G-ALIH which had been destroyed by fire in May 1971.
