During the summer, the Generalitat de Catalunya contracts helicopters and single engine air tankers to fight wildfires throughout the region. Some of these are based at airports and others at heliports located at fire stations in rural areas. The Parc de Bombers de Manresa Heliport (located near the junction of highway C-55 and C-16C) was the base for two TAF AS350s in the summer of 2012. AS350B3 EC-JEA is seen here with external basket for carrying tools and a Canadian-made SEI Bambi bucket attached to its cargo hook for dropping water on wildfires.
