Made the first flight of an aircraft in New Zealand in February 1911 from Glenora Park which was part of private racetrack. The site is now housing but there is a bronze plaque marking the site. Howard Wright was an English aircraft designer active from 1908 to 1911. Seven 1910 Biplanes were built. The Walsh Bros continued in aviation and after World War I operated a flying school that became the basis of New Zealand's air force.
