This early serial number Aerospatiale SA-360C Dauphin (msn 1004) was operating scheduled passenger flights from Manhattan's East 34th Street Heliport in April 1984, probably to JFK. It was probably the first Dauphin imported to the USA by Aerospatiale Helicopter Corp. in Texas since it was already N47284 when displayed at the 1976 Reading Airshow. New York Helicopter, Island Helicopter, and National Helicopter were sister companies. They were all evicted from E34th St. heliport in August 1997 after owing unpaid rent on the heliport they had also managed. Rotorspot says this 360C is preserved. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
