A great number of Skyraiders were transferred from the navy to the air force for use in Vietnam. These retained their BuNo, but received in addition fiscal year 1952. However 132463 was not one of these. In 1963 this aircraft was delivered to MASDC for storage. It went to Mcclellan AFB and was on display in the markings of 1st Air Combat Squadron / 17 Air Combat Wing, as used during 1967 when operating from Pleiku AB in South Vietnam.
