Formerly D-CIAS and originally T.2B-144 for Spain. The real D-ANOY indeed has a history worth remembering. In 1937, it successfully completed a route probing flight to China and back, despite a forced landing after engine failure and the crew being caught in war actions in China. On 2 December 1938, enroute from Berlin to Damascus, it crashed in bad weather close to Wien-Aspern while diverting after a missed approach. The crew was badly hurt, the passengers hardly and all but the aircraft survived. This photo is copyright © Erik Sleutelberg, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
