The British Columbia Government acquired its first Cessna 500 Citations in the 1970s and were the Victoria-based aircraft were often used for medical transfers from remote areas to Vancouver and Victoria. In August 1986, it was one of 34 aircraft that participated in the Expo 86 Flight into History which launched from Abbotsford and Vancouver airports.
