Having entered service in September 1967 with 44 Squadron at Waterkloof, 6905 became the final DC4 to be retired by the SAAF. Sold to the South African Airways Historic Flight in December 1995, shortly after this photo was taken. Registered ZS-AUB the aircraft went on to fly with Swissair as HB-ILI/ZU-ILI to celebrate their 50th anniversary as well as making several long haul trips including Oshkosh and Fairford. Later transferred to the SAA Museum Society and operated by Skyclass on safari charters until retired in 2018.
