This Fiscal Year 1980 Blue Angel was seen from late 1991 at the dump of the Naval Weapons Evaluation Facility (NWEF) at Albuquerque (NM) where it was used in an investigation programme in which aircraft-weapon interfaces were researched to provide United States Navy aircraft with nuclear weapons delivery capability. After the programme, the Hornet was transferred to NAD North Island in early 1992, then served the NAWC-AD. It was stored at AMARC with inventory code 1A0008 from 3 May 1995. The Hornet was moved to HVF West on 12 September 2018 and scrapped. This photo is copyright © Stephan de Bruijn, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
