With the Polish team neatly lined up, the photo was probably taken in Berlin where the 1930 edition of the Challenge International de Tourisme was organised. The contenders assembled at Staaken but this is likely the apron of Tempelhof. Many contenders dropped out during the event's 7560-km rally through Europe, including SP-ADK / O9 and SP-ADL / P1. Jerzy Bajan and mechanic Gustaw Pokrzywka in SP-ADM came 32nd in the final qualification of the Challenge.
