The MD-12 is a Polish four-engined short-range passenger and civil utility aircraft of the 1960s intended for LOT's domestic routes. The pane evaluated well but did not enter production as the small number of planes required resulted in vastly increased costs. Instead this aerial photography version with a glazed nose and increased wing span was built and is now on display at this super museum. This is the third aircraft built. The first prototype, SP-PAL, crashed in 1963 and the second, SP-PBD, was scrapped in 1967. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
