Cliff Cummins' Mustang after it ran off the east end of the runway at Reno-Stead. It suffered an engine failure during that year's Air Race and attempted an emergency landing. Its larger propeller (a racing modification) struck the ground and caused the aircraft to run off the runway. The Mustang was rebuilt at Long Beach, CA in 1971. This photo is copyright © William T.
