During 1959 and 1960 PZL-Mielec built 129 MiG-17PF as Lim-5Ps, which were fitted with RP-1 radars, but by the late 1960s these were no longer combat capable as interceptor fighters. In 1971 some were converted to attack aircraft by installing additional weapon provisions and replacing the radar with a battery. These aircraft were designated Lim-6M and the reconnaisance version was the Lim-6MR. This example of the latter is pictured at this super museum. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
