VF-301 was a US Navy Reserve squadron based at NAS Miramar, CA. Slide taken at NAS Fallon during the Reserve Air Wing 30 annual two week active duty training. The S on the intake splitter plate indicates the squadron earned a Safety award for the previous fiscal year. This a/c was eventually converted to a QF-4N and was expended (shot down by missile) on 11 August 1993.
